WELCOME! The Innovation in Teaching and Learning Committee is committed to helping all Community College Mathematics Faculty improve. The membership committee is composed of the eight Regional Vice Presidents of AMATYC and the Treasurer, with a Regional Vice President, selected by the President, serving as chairperson. The Executive Director is an ex officio member of this committee. This is a private group.

The purpose of this committee is to serve as a resource for the AMATYC membership on issues related to placement and assessment of student outcomes and mathematical programs. This committee intends to promote opportunities for educators to gain a deep understanding of best practices in placement and assessment implemented as per the standards recommended by the AMATYC.

The purpose of the PD Committee is to monitor, coordinate, and evaluate AMATYC’s professional development efforts in order to provide the membership with high quality opportunities and a wide breadth of activities.

The purpose of the Research in Mathematics Education for Two-Year Colleges (RMETYC) Committee is to encourage quality research in the first two years of college mathematics education. RMETYC will provide organizational support and mentoring for faculty researchers and institutions conducting research in mathematics education and its application in promoting effective teaching strategies. The main focus of this committee is to help insure better preparation of teachers of mathematics at all levels. Subtopics or potential subgroups for this committee include elementary teacher preparation, secondary teacher preparation, and mathematics curriculum for teachers. Any member interested in teacher preparation topics is invited to join.
