AMATYC Member Types:

 

Individual:  Available to any full or part-time teacher of mathematics or other person interested in two-year college mathematics education.  A regular member has the right to vote, hold elected office, be appointed to leadership positions, nominate candidates for office, serve on committees, and be appointed as a delegate in the Delegate Assembly.  Other benefits include subscriptions to the AMATYC News and MathAMATYC Educator journal, priority seating in AMATYC webinars, access to all past tests of the Student Mathematics League, and reduced member conference registration rates.  

 

Adjunct:  Available to any teacher of mathematics who is not employed full-time in any post-secondary educational institution.  Adjunct members have the right to nominate candidates for office and serve on committees, but do not have the right to vote, hold elected office, be appointed to leadership positions, or be appointed as a delegate in the Delegate Assembly.  Other benefits include a subscription to the AMATYC News, online access to the MathAMATYC Educator, priority seating in AMATYC webinars, and reduced member conference registration rates.

 

Retired:   Available to any retired teacher of mathematics or other retired person who is not employed full- or part-time in any educational institution.  Retired members have the right to nominate candidates for office and serve on committees, but do not have the right to vote, hold elected office, be appointed to leadership positions, or be appointed as a delegate in the Delegate Assembly.  Other benefits include a subscription to the AMATYC News, online access to the MathAMATYC Educator, priority seating in AMATYC online webinars, and reduced member conference registration rates.

 

Student:  Available to any full- or part-time student of mathematics or related discipline. A student member must not also be a full- or part-time teacher and must be endorsed by a regular member; if you do not know a regular member, the regional vice president will be assigned.  Student members have the right to nominate candidates for office and serve on committees, but do not have the right to vote, hold elected office, be appointed to leadership positions, or be appointed as a delegate in the Delegate Assembly.  Other benefits include a subscription to the AMATYC News, online access to the MathAMATYC Educator, and priority seating in AMATYC webinars, and reduced member conference registration rates.

 

Friend of AMATYC (NonMember):  Available to any site visitor, this member type is complementary This member type is typically reserved for friends who would like to register for an event (like a webinar or the annual conference as a NonMember) or for temporary privileges on my.amatyc.org, but who are not interested in purchasing a regular membership at this time. [Note: You cannot register for the annual Student Mathematics League (SML) or the Student Research League (SRL) as a Friend of AMATYC (NonMember). Your college must register for the SML or SRL. A Friend is considered an individual not a college. Email the AMATYC Office (amatyc@amatyc.org) if you need help to register for the SML or SRL.]

 

Institutional:  Available to any college, university, learning center, publisher, manufacturer, or similar entity that supports the purposes of the association. The representative of an institutional member has the right to nominate candidates for office, but does not have the right to vote, hold elected office, be appointed to leadership positions, serve on committees, or be appointed as a delegate in the Delegate Assembly, unless that individual is also an individual member of the association. Other benefits include one complimentary AMATYC Adjunct Membership, a 50% discount on a one-year, individual AMATYC membership for each employee of the member institution who will be a first-time member of AMATYC, subscriptions to the AMATYC News and MathAMATYC Educator journal, priority seating in AMATYC webinars, one complimentary discount member conference registration, a Student Math League participation fee waiver, access to all past tests of the Student Mathematics League, one complimentary AMATYC Student Research League team membership, and two complimentary job listings posted on the AMATYC website job board.
