An annual award funded by the Foundation to be given to a new speaker to defray conference expenses. Margie Hobbs was a longtime supporter of and volunteer for AMATYC. Some of her roles include Memphis Conference Co-Chair (1985), Treasurer (1989-1992, 2012-2015), Standards Task Force (1992), and Conference Coordinator (1995-2008). Leila & Simon Peskoff Award

A lifetime membership given annually to an AMATYC Project ACCCESS Fellow who has contributed to the education profession in the area of the mathematics taught during the first two years of college. The award is funded by Fred Peskoff in memory of his parents.

Student Awards

AMATYC supports several mathematical awards for students. A donation can be made to support any of them. Further details here.

Student Mathematics League

A two-exam competition given every Fall and Spring to more than 165 colleges in more than thirty-five states as well as Bermuda involving over eight thousand community college math students. Funds are used to support prizes given to exam winners.

Student Research League

The Student Research League (SRL) is a partnership between two-year college students and Faculty Mentors who are seeking STEM knowledge through an AMATYC approved research program. The SRL requires AMATYC Faculty Mentors to sponsor a team of one to three mathematics students from their college to participate in addressing a designed research STEM Challenge Problem. The student(s) will have eleven days to complete the task. Funds are used to support prizes award to winners of the competition.

Committee Support

AMATYC encourages donations to support AMATYC Committees and AMATYC Networks (ANets). Further details here.  If your favorite Committee or ANet is not listed here, please give to the general fund and specify which Committee or ANet.

A donation to this fund will help support the work of the Developmental Mathematics Committee (DMC). The purpose of the DMC is to improve the quality of developmental mathematics programs in two-year colleges by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas. One current focus of the committee is the redesign of developmental mathematics programs throughout the country.

Research in Mathematics Education in Two-Year Colleges Fund

A donation to this fund will support the work of the Research in Mathematics Education for Two-Year Colleges (RMETYC) Committee. The purpose of RMETYC is to encourage quality research in mathematics education, to provide organizational support and mentoring for faculty researchers, and to support the dissemination of findings and results emerging from research.

Standards Fund

Project ACCCESS Fund

Project ACCCESS (Advancing Community College Careers: Education, Scholarship, and Service) continues to assist new faculty in becoming effective teachers and active members of our mathematical family. At the 2019 AMATYC Conference in Milwaukee, the 16th cohort of ACCCESS fellows will be completing their two-year experience. A donation to the Project ACCCESS fund will help the AMATYC Foundation to continue to provide funding to cover costs for accommodations and food at the AMATYC conference.

Foundation Mini-Grants Fund

AMATYC members often have ideas to positively impact the education of our students but could use a small grant to get the project get started. The AMATYC Foundation provides grants of up to $750 to fund such activities. A donation to the Mini-Grants Fund will allow this initiative to continue and expand.
